Name: Chouyu Appearance: Thick forest-green hair with greyish green eyes, and eyeliner (different shades of purple! ^_~). He used to look and dress pretty cool, despite of this makeup fetish. As he gets older though, he loses his sense of fashion...now his outfit mainly consists of a long dark brown cloak, with orange mandarin suit underneath. Ah yes, and a muddy yellow turban on his head, which makes four pieces of his hair stick out like antennaes. Age: 40's? But he still looks 35 at times. Chouyu is the vice-boss of Yosen Shuuka, father of Meili, and also Mao's teacher/mentor. He always has this stern look on his face, and barely smiles genuinely (only once I think), making him seem like very hard to get along with. True, he is a guy who would not show his emotions easily, but deep down he truly cares for the ones he love, and greatly respects elders.
Speaking of his loved ones...if you don't know already, his wife was Meika. They went out for two years before they got married, and were still very much in love up until her death. Although at the time it was lawful to have more than one wife, Chouyu chooses to stay true to Meika and not remarry. He even dedicates a little something for her every year (ie the Ice Dragon in Episode 24). This shows his eternal loyalty towards his "other half" ^__^ Example of a perfect man eh?
Chouyu is extremely experienced in cooking. No wonder, he was once a Super Chef himself, back when he was only 20. Although he rarely cooks anymore ever since Mao sort of "took over" Yosen Shuuka, he is always there as a spectator when Mao engages in cooking battles, and explains the situations to others like an expert. ^^
