Name: Ran Fei Hung Appearance: Absolutely THE sexiest bishounen!!! Beautiful greyish brown long hair, with deep green eyes to match. He has his own unique style of fashion. In contrast to Mao, though he got the Super Chef title he doesn't wear the uniforms the officials provided him, and instead keeps his usual black outfit with red trimmings. The genius Fei was announced Super Chef at the same time as Mao. So he must be just as good as Mao in cooking! It's true, Fei has tons of abilities, but he hasn't shown us all yet (wait until near the end of the series!). So far we know that he's one of the few people who can make "Dragon Whiskers Noodles", he can pick out the good potatoes from a bunch of them in a flash (only in the anime though), and peel them in mid-air with the tip of the butcher knife.
Fei has this cold and distant personality, but nonetheless is passionate for cooking. He is extremely competitive, especially with Mao. He wishes to surpass Mao's abilities, since Mao is the son of Pai, his teacher and saviour.
Fei had a tragic childhood...as he was having a peaceful dinner with his parents one day, henchmen from the Dark Cooking Society barged in. They killed his parents in the process of kidnapping him. Then for the next few months or so Fei went under torture training along with other kids his age: such as holding a wok full of rocks in one hand while wearing a metal suit, and cooking perfect dishes (or else they'd whip you). Back then Fei considered cooking as the fright of his life.
He managed to escape on one snowy day, and collapsed right in front of Kikkaro from exhaustion! Pai discovered him and brought him into the restaurant. When Fei woke up, Pai (with Karin and baby Mao behind her!) fed him with this energy-reviving herbal soup. Fei was completely revived by it, and was very thankful for everything this family had done to him. He trained there for a few years before returning to his hometown, and is now working for a restaurant in GuongZhou.
However, he could not forget the fact that his parents were killed by the Dark Cooking Society, and therefore seeks revenge for his parents by sneaking into the DCS headquarters and kill the boss there. Unfortunately he was caught. Since the DCS know Fei is a Super Chef, they drugged him into becoming evil, hoping to use his cooking skills to carry out the DCS's evil plans. The last three episodes deal with the battle between the evil Fei and Mao. During the battle one can see Fei's true cooking ability. He is very creative in coming up with new dish ideas because he was able to combine Chinese cooking and Western ingredients to create his "Neo Man Han Banquet", while Mao's group simply made the dishes they are good at. No wonder he has so many fangirls *points to self*!
