Name: Shan
Appearance: Enough to pass for a bond girl! When she first showed up she wore a cloak to cover herself, but when she takes it off...WHAM! Super revealing hot pink belly top (a hole to show her cleavage), with matching miniskirt. Like Leon, she wears her set of Seven Star Knives as a shoulderbag.
Age: mid-20's
Origin: Unknown
Seiyuu: Maya Okamoto

Really, not much to say about Shan...she is pure evil from what is shown in the anime. She is one of the more popular members of the Dark Cooking Society. Very beautiful and glamourous on the outside like a blooming flower, but inside she is as evil as black ink, therefore earning her alias "The Black Peony". She first appears subtle and silent, because during the first two matches she was just a spectator, not roudy or anything like that. However, when it was her turn to battle Leon (Episode 41) you'll find out just how trecherous she is.

Shan has a connection with Leon, because like him, she owns a set of Seven Star Blades. She uses this fact to crush Leon's pride, making him think that her set of blades were made by Lache's vengeful spirit. She would have succeeded in making Leon forfeit the match too, if Mao had not talked Leon out of it in time. But in reality, Shan obtained the second set of blades using sly methods: after Leon pushed Lache off the cliff, Lache is not yet dead. Shan happened to be under the cliff and saw everything. So she forced Lache to tell her the location of the second set of blades, and killed him afterward.

During the match with Leon, she also had other dirty tricks under her sleeves (guess one could call Shan strategous ^^;). Using her beauty, she coaxed the judges to try her dish prior to Leon's, made the judges drink a soup with a heavy taste of crab (so they would think Leon's dish later does not taste as good), and that they will not alter their decision once the result is out. The purpose of the latter is that even if Mao figures out her soup strategy, there would be no way to change the end result since the judges promised that the first decision is the only one that counts.

Ecks...the list of Shan's evil deeds just keeps on getting longer! You have to watch the later episodes yourself to find out what she does to Mao and Meili, and also her fate.
