In the later parts of Chuuka Ichiban, Mao and gang set off to find these things called Legendary Cooking Utensils. The Dark Cooking Society was also looking for them. Well, just what the heck are these Legendary Cooking Utensils? (I'll refer to them as LCUs from this point on)
According to a legend told among generations, a long time ago, an asteroid fell from the sky. It was picked up by a genius chef, and he made eight cooking utensils out of it. Eight dragon spirits guard each cooking utensil, and they wait for the day when the worthy owner takes procession of them. Whoever is lucky enough to eat food made with an LCU will have eternal life. Have to be careful though, if an LCU is used on anything other than cooking, its Spirit departs, and it becomes an ordinary cooking utensil. There are nine maps that will tell you the whereabouts of these LCU, but they are not that easy to decode. You need to overlap two maps together, and a shining spot denotes where a LCU is hiding!
Now, let me introduce each of the eight LCUs ^^:
Eternally Mystical Blade
Resembles a fancy butcher knife. When you slice any meat/seafood using the Eternally Mystical Knife, their freshness return no matter how rotten they were at the beginning. This LCU was sealed inside a temple for 400 years, waiting for its rightful owner. Potential canditates must win a cooking battle and also pass the LCU spirit's test in order to poccess it.
Coiled Dragon Bottle
Just dump your soup or sauce ingredients into this magic pot, and it'll automatically gather the universe's "chi" to make your soup/sauce in an instant! Better than Campbell's anyday ^_~ It was located within the forests of Shanghai, hidden behind a statue of "The god of cooking stove". Nobody has touched it for a thousand years, until Mao came along and unsealed it! A pretty blue pot, in the shape of coiled dragon, hence its name "coiled dragon bottle" ^^;
Holy Copperware
Mao and co. first saw this in Jiuhua village, when it was originally in the hands of Seiyo, the false "Abalone Deity". It works like a Supersoaker (sort of XD)! This LCU moisturizes any dried foods few times the normal rate, making them fresh again in no time.
But On the outside it just looks like a regular copper pot.
» Note: From this point on, the LCUs below do not appear in the anime, but in the manga rather.
Karura Blade
Funkyness...with this LCU, there is no need to worry about boiling germs out of meat! When meat is cut, all bateria present are automatically killed. No boiling required!
Greedy Wolf Bottle
This pot slices or grinds meat for you in seconds...I guess the wolf doesn't get any after all.
Mystical Storage Chest
Simple...think of a super refrigerator/freezer that keeps any food fresh all year round ^^
